The Anacortes Police Department is investigating after a woman was found fatally stabbed. APD says the woman’s husband is a person of interest. According to the Anacortes Police Department, Skagit 911 dispatch received a report of a woman who was found stabbed and deceased in a home in the 2200 block of J Avenue around 4:38 p.m. on April 9, 2024.
At the scene, officers found a 41-year-old woman fatally stabbed. The reporting party informed authorities that his son and the victim’s husband was possibly suicidal and driving to the Deception Pass Bridge, according to APD. After officers cleared the home, they determined that a vehicle belonging to the husband and wife was missing.
Washington State Patrol troopers found the vehicle on the center island of Deception Pass Bridge. APD says the 41-year-old husband is thought to be a person of interest in the slaying. Multiple agencies responded to a report of a body in the water near Deception Pass earlier today. At this time, the husband and his body have not been found.
