The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday night. LVMPD reports that its Communications department received a report of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Arid Avenue just before 8 p.m. on July 19, 2024.

At the scene, officers found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the street. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. LVMPD’s Homicide Section assumed control of the investigation.

The Homicide Section believes the victim was involved in an altercation with multiple people. At some point, a suspect shot the victim and fled the area before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.
