The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has responded to the scene of a suspected murder-suicide in Green Tree. Around 5:42 p.m. on December 22, 2023, 911 dispatch received a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Woodridge Drive. At the scene, first responders located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A relative of the victim, who was identified as a suspect, was still inside the home. The South Hills SWAT Team responded and entered the home.

The SWAT Team found the suspect deceased from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. Homicide detectives have assumed control of the investigation.
