The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has responded to a request for assistance in Penn Hills. Around 10:31 p.m. on March 7, 2024, County 911 received a notification of a shooting in the 600 block of Long Road outside of the World Class Tavern.

At the scene, first responders found a 32-year-old male victim who had been shot in the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. ACPD says the preliminary investigation indicates that a shooting occurred following a physical altercation outside the tavern.
