The Allegheny County Police Department announced its Homicide Unit is investigating after a woman and child were found deceased in South Park. ACPD says Mt. Lebanon Police were contacted by a male requesting a welfare check on a 43-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl around 2:30 p.m. on June 7, 2024.
Around 7:18 p.m., investigators determined that the woman’s vehicle was located at Diana Grove in South Park. ACPD officers responded to the area. ACPD says the woman and child were found deceased inside the vehicle.
ACPD’s Homicide Unit responded to initiate an investigation. ACPD says the preliminary information showed no signs of trauma. Detectives are awaiting results from the Medical Examiner’s Office. No other details are available at this time.
