The Allegheny County Police Department has announced that its Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in Swissvale. Around 6:04 p.m. on January 4, 2024, County 911 was notified of a shooting in the 2200 block of Woodstock Avenue.

At the scene, first responders located a juvenile male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Homicide detectives responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.
