The Allegheny County Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Monroeville. Around 9:13 p.m. on January 3, 2024, Monroeville Emergency Dispatch was informed of an armed robbery in the 4100 block of William Penn Highway. An officer traveling east on Monroeville Boulevard near Stonecliffe Drive located a person matching the suspect’s description around 9:17 p.m.

ACPD said in a social media statement that the suspect fired multiple rounds at the police vehicle as the officer approached. The officer was struck multiple times and is currently in the hospital in stable condition. At 9:18 p.m., responding officers encountered the suspect in a parking lot on Stonecliffe Drive.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect is only being described as an adult male.
