According to a social media post from the Allegheny County Police Department, the Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in Springdale Township. County 911 was informed of a shooting inside a residence in the 800 block of Thompson Run Road around 5:11 PM on December 15, 2023.

Upon arrival, first responders found an adult female victim with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. The female victim’s husband was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Both are expected to survive. Detectives say they do not believe anyone else is involved and there is no danger to the public.
