The Allegheny County Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a stabbing on Tuesday. According to ACPD, its Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in Sharpsburg. Around 2 p.m. on March 19, 2024, County 911 received a notification of a stabbing inside a residence in the 1600 block of Middle Street.

At the scene, first responders located a 71-year-old female victim who had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A suspect was taken into custody without incident. In a later update, ACPD identified the suspect as 69-year-old Victor Cute who was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

ACPD says the victim remains in critical but stable condition.
