Allegheny County Police arrest a Duquesne woman in relation to the beating death of her 3-month-old child

The Allegheny County Police Department has arrested a woman in connection to the death of her infant. Around 1:57 a.m. on January 7, 2024, Duquesne Police responded to the 300 block of Hemlock Alley in response to an unresponsive male infant. CPR was performed before the child was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Duquesne Police requested assistance from the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit before detectives initiated an investigation. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy that determined the child’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and the child’s injuries were caused by an adult.

Detectives say they learned through witness interviews that 26-year-old Alisha Parker was the only adult in the home in the hours leading up to the child’s death. Parker has been charged with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
