Aliquippa Police investigating shots fired incident stemming from child custody dispute

The Aliquippa Police Department is investigating a disturbance stemming from a child custody dispute. APD reports that it responded to 500 Superior Avenue D Building of Valley Terrace for a report of a disturbance and shots fired around 12:33 a.m. on August 24, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers met roughly 10 people screaming and arguing with each other on the second floor. The disturbance allegedly took place in front of the building, the first floor, and the second floor.

APD says it was reported that a black man wearing a red hoodie and black jogging pants was involved in the disturbance outside of the entrance. The male allegedly fired three shots at another man he was arguing with.

No one was struck. APD says the incident stemmed from a child custody dispute. Officers reportedly identified the man who fired the shots, but he fled the scene before officers arrived.

APD says officers recovered three spent shell casings and one live bullet in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call APD at 724-775-0880.
