Ali Aldemar Moreno arrested for posing as a 15-year-old on Snapchat and assaulting multiple victims

Edgewater, Florida – The Edgewater Police Department has announced the arrest of 21-year-old Ali Aldemar Moreno on multiple charges involving two 14-year-old victims.

According to EPD, Moreno used social media to pose as a juvenile boy, groomed the victims, and assaulted them after meeting in person. Detectives say they have identified additional victims and believe there could be more.

Moreno was booked into the St. Johns County Jail on charges of Lewd & Lascivious Battery – Victim Under 16, Lewd & Lascivious Battery, and Traveling to Meet a Minor After the Use of a Computer.

Moreno is being held without bond for a capital offense investigated by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact EPD immediately. SJCSO says Moreno was arrested on Capital Sexual Battery charges involving an 11-year-old victim.

Moreno allegedly portrayed himself as a 15-year-old on Snapchat to groom the child. He is accused of picking her up near a bus stop and driving her to another location where he assaulted her.

SJCSO has charged Moreno with Capital Sexual Battery, Traveling to Meet a Minor, Online Solicitation of a Minor, Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material, Possession of CSAM, and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device.
