The Prince William County Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to the sexual assault that occurred in Woodbridge on February 26, 2024. According to PWCPD, Alexander Maximiliano Soto Hernandez was located and taken into custody in North Plainfield Borough, New Jersey. The 42-year-old is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery, one count of forcible sodomy, and one count of abduction with intent to defile.
Around 7:50 a.m. on February 26, 2024, officers responded to a residence in Woodbridge to investigate a sexual assault. Authorities say an adult female victim awoke to the accused entering her room armed with a knife. The suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was able to get away and leave the home before encountering a neighbor who helped contact police.
The suspect fled in a Dodge Caravan that was originally silver and is now painted black with New Jersey license plates. Officers determined that the suspect had been renting the basement in the same home as the victim, but the two parties were not known to one another. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused.
