The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a man who has been accused of sexually assaulting a handicapped victim. ACSO says its investigators were notified of a possible sexual assault involving a mentally handicapped person on September 20, 2024.

The incident allegedly occurred on September 19, 2024 and involved the victim and Marcus Ray Burcham of Corinth, Mississippi. ACSO reports that Burcham was interviewed and confessed to assaulting the handicapped individual.

Burcham has been charged with Sexual Battery of a Vulnerable Person. At this time, he is being held in the Alcorn County Jail.
