The Albuquerque Police Department has arrested two suspects for murder after allegedly beating, stabbing, and running over a woman. According to an APD media release, 23-year-old Joshua Dominguez and 21-year-old Destiny Marquez were arrested for murder in the area of 1921 Broadway Boulevard NE on March 15, 2024.
Detectives say Marquez told them she and her fiancé, Dominguez, were watching a movie inside their apartment at 310 Indian School Road NE. They heard a car alarm and looked outside when they saw a woman who appeared to be removing property from Dominguez’s vehicle.
They confronted the woman who yelled that she didn’t take anything and for the suspects to leave her alone. Marquez and Dominguez chased the woman. Detectives say Marquez initially claimed the woman attacked Dominguez and stabbed him. However, detectives say video surveillance shows a light Honda CRV driving next to the woman and one person running behind her and pushing her to the ground before punching her.
Someone exited the vehicle and began fighting the victim. Detectives say it appears the subjects were punching and stabbing the victim. One suspect reportedly kicked the victim in the upper area of her body several times. The female was also run over by the CRV at least twice and stabbed multiple times. Following the attack, the suspects fled east on Indian School in the vehicle.
When detectives located the vehicle parked outside of an apartment complex at 310 Indian School Road NE, they noticed what appeared to be fresh blood on the driver’s side bumper. Detectives say they watched Marquez and Dominguez move items from the CRV to another vehicle. They were detained. Two vehicles were sealed and towed. Both suspects have been charged with an open count of murder, conspiracy, and tampering with evidence.
