Charlottesville, Virginia – The Albemarle County Police Department is currently on the scene of a shooting.
Around 10:37 p.m., ACPD issued a community notification saying there was an increased police presence near Rio Road East in the area of Pine Haven Court and Huntington Road.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public. In an update, ACPD said that it responded to a report of a larceny on Pine Haven Court around 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Shortly after reaching the scene, shots were fired. One person was transported to UVA. That person’s condition is not known at this time.
ACPD says the investigation is contained to the immediate area. No other details are available at this time.
