Update – Albany Police have announced three arrests in connection to the recent homicide in the 1000 block of Radium Springs Drive. Around 12:45 p.m. on March 7, 2024, investigators responded to a location in the 3900 block of Leary Road after receiving information about the location of the vehicle involved in the homicide.

APD said the recovery of the vehicle led to several arrests. 30-year-old Jason Lamar Gaines is charged with Murder, Tampering with Evidence, and Conspiracy. 16-year-old Janarrian Oliver is charged with Murder, Tampering with Evidence, and Conspiracy.

36-year-old Sir Robert Moss Jr. is charged with Tampering with Evidence and Obstruction. APD expects more arrests.

Update – Albany Police Department has provided an update in a fatal shooting in the 1000 block of Radium Springs Drive. At the scene, responding officers located 29-year-old Markel Harper with a gunshot wound to the chest. 28-year-old Jaboris Terrell Cato suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

Both were transported to an area hospital. Harper succumbed to his injuries. Cato is currently recovering. APD said investigators are following up on leads at this time.

Original Story – The Albany Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 10:58 p.m. in the 1100 block of Radium Springs Road. APD said that one male victim was found shot. The victim was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

A second male victim succumbed to his injuries. At this time, there are no suspects. No additional details are available.
