The Albany Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection to a fatal stabbing earlier this month. APD reports that a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old man have been arrested in connection to the homicide that occurred on Washington Avenue.
Marco Reyes-Lopez and Javier Martinez-Reyes were arrested this morning. Around 3:40 a.m. on June 3, 2024, Mohawk Ambulance notified police that they were flagged down in the area of Washington Avenue and Quail Street for a stab victim.
At the scene, APD officers found a 25-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the back. Officers learned there was another victim in the 400 block of Washington Avenue unconscious and unresponsive.
Officers found a 24-year-old male with multiple stab wounds. The 25-year-old was transported to an area hospital and listed in stable condition. 24-year-old Abel Vasques-Bautista was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Marco Reyes-Lopez is charged with one count of Murder 2nd and one count of Gang Assault 1st. Javier Martinez-Reyes is charged with one count of Murder 2nd and one count of Gang Assault 1st.
