The Albany Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a fatal shooting on January 27, 2024. Around 3:48 a.m., officers with APD responded to the 300 block of Lockett Station Road in reference to a shooting. At the scene, officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim, who was later identified as 40-year-old Anthony Mitchell, succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. APD said they identified the suspect as 23-year-old Milton Gowdy IV. The suspect has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter.
