The Albany Police Department says it has arrested two men in connection to a stolen credit card. According to APD, its officers responded to Planet Fitness at 1016 North Westover Boulevard for a report of several car break-ins on November 24.
APD says its officers were at the scene when there was another call at Tony’s Gym at 623 North Westover Boulevard. In the second situation, a car window had been broken and items were stolen.
One victim checked their credit card accounts and found out that one of their cards was being used at the Game Stop at 2835 Ledo Road. APD says the Lee County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
Authorities say video surveillance helped track the vehicle and suspects to a drive-thru line on North Slappey Boulevard. Police arrested 22-year-old Maurice Dante Williams and 34-year-old Ahmad Williams.
The men have been charged with Entering Auto and Financial Transaction Card Fraud. Detectives allege there were Entering Autos at Planet Fitness from November 18 to November 20 that were linked back to Maurice Williams.
Police also say he had been charged in 2023 for Entering Autos and Financial Transaction Card Fraud that occurred at Planet Fitness. More charges are pending.
