Alameda County Sheriff’s Office investigating road rage incident in which someone shot at 70-year-old man and his 14-year-old dog

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a road rage shooting that happened earlier today, December 11, 2023, around 12:40 PM. According to a social media post from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, a 70-year-old man and his 14-year-old dog were in a pick-up truck when the suspect vehicle tried to pass them near Foothill Bl and Castro Valley Bl.

It continued onto E/B  Castro Valley Bl to Redwood Road. The suspect reportedly shot the bed of the victim’s truck twice. The victim drove to the California Highway Patrol station on Redwood Road for safety. Authorities say the victim was startled but unharmed.

Authorities describe the suspect vehicle as a white or light colored sedan. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office at 510-667-7721.
