The subject arrived at the jail where he was confronted by deputies. Authorities say the subject demonstrated unusual behavior as he exited the building. The subject allegedly returned to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm, and fired at Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Deputies returned fire and shot the suspect. Following the shooting, the suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
