The Aberdeen Police Department reports that its officers and EMS responded to the 200 block of Center Deen Avenue for a reported shooting around 11:52 p.m. on November 2, 2024.

Police say 14-year-old Jai’den Alexander Winchester was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. In an update on November 3, police confirmed that a 16-year-old male from Havre de Grace had been arrested for murder.

The teen is charged with 1st and 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and various firearms offenses. APD says detectives have found no evidence to indicate this was an accidental shooting despite social media comments.
