A news release from Leicestershire Police explains that detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit’s major crime team had launched an investigation after a woman passed away in Kibworth Beauchamp. Police responded to an address on Fleckney Road just after 7:30 AM on December 7 following a report that a woman had been found unresponsive inside the residence.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives say a 26-year-old man from Kibworth was arrested following further inquiries. The man has since been released on bail.

In a statement, EMSOU Detective Inspector Mark Parish said, “Our investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened is continuing today and officers will remain in the area carrying out further enquiries. I would like to reassure the local community that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

“I’d urge anyone who has information that they think could help – no matter how insignificant you think it might be – to contact police.”
