The Santa Cruz Police Department is currently investigating the death of an 18-month-old Santa Cruz resident. A 38-year-old is behind bars on a charge of Felony Child Abuse. The Santa Cruz Police Department reports that officers responded to the Dominican Hospital for a report of a deceased infant brought in by her mother on July 28, 2024.

At the scene, officers spoke to the 18-month-old girl’s mother Korisa Woll. Investigators responded to follow-up. Investigators say the child passed away while in the care of Woll at a residence on River Street in Santa Cruz.

The Coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Woll was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on a charge of Felony Child Abuse. No other details are available at this time.
