The Rochester Police Department is investigating after a memorial for a victim from Maplewood Park turned into a fight. RPD officers responded to Pulaski Park at 1200 North Street for reports of a large fight.

At the scene, officers learned that a large gathering was being held as a memorial balloon release for a recent victim from Maplewood Park. At some point, an argument began and escalated into a large fight.

A 22-year-old male victim from Rochester was transported to an area hospital by private vehicle. The victim is being treated for minor non-life-threatening injuries. RPD confirms no one has been stabbed.

No one is in custody at this time.
