The Fairfax County Police Department reports that a 77-year-old man is in custody for fatally stabbing his 77-year-old wife. The incident happened in the couple’s Fair Oaks home on Monday evening.

Around 6:18 p.m. on July 29, 2024, FCPD officers responded to a stabbing in the 3900 block of Highland Oaks Drive in Fair Oaks. At the scene, officers found 77-year-old Karen Dorbayan suffering from trauma to the upper body.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Detectives allege that 77-year-old Behruze Dorbayan fatally stabbed his wife. Behruze was booked into the Adult Detention Center on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.

He is being held without bond.
