North Little Rock Police Officer Arrested After Improperly Discharging Service Weapon

On July 29, 2024, the North Little Rock Police Department arrested one of its own for violating its Response and Resistance and Use of Deadly Force Policy.

Officer Jesse Gossage, a nearly four-year veteran, pulled over a red vehicle with an expired license plate at the intersection of Birch Street and E. Washington Avenue at 12:14 a.m. on July 19, 2024. The driver pulled over and immediately fled, carrying a small dark object. Gossage discharged his firearm multiple times at the fleeing driver. A passerby’s vehicle was struck several times. The driver was reportedly uninjured. The driver of the suspect was never located.

Gossage was arrested and remanded to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility on Criminal Attempt to Commit First Degree Battery and First-Degree Assault charges.
