The El Paso Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a stabbing on Sunday. EPD reports that its officers responded to the 14000 block of Tierra Leona for a stabbing.
At the scene, officers located 23-year-old Jorge Miguel Perez being held down by multiple people in the front yard of a residence. Police found the victim, a 56-year-old Central El Paso man, who had been stabbed multiple times.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Perez knocked on the door and walked away when the residents did not answer. EPD says he returned a short time later. When the victim answered the door, Perez requested to speak to someone who doesn’t live at the residence.
Then, Perez allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times. The victim and other inhabitants of the residence began to fight Perez and try to take the knife from him. Perez was subdued until police reached the scene.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
