Santa Fe Police investigating road rage shooting with woman injured and dog killed

A woman and a dog were shot during a road rage incident in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Tuesday evening. The Santa Fe Police Department reports that its officers responded to the 1100 block of Hickox Street for a report of a woman shot on Tuesday evening.

At the scene, officers spoke to the victim who said a road rage incident started on Alto Street. The suspect was driving a white Toyota Corolla or Camry. At some point, a passenger exited the vehicle, pointed a gun at the victim, and followed her on foot.

The victim told authorities she drove away slowly to try to obtain a description of the suspect and contact police. During the altercation, the victim heard gunshots. The woman and her dog were injured during the shooting.
