The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a homicide after a body was found close to a river. PPD reports that it was informed of a deceased body close to the river near the 2800 block of Dillon Drive around 2:42 p.m. on July 21, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. PPD’s Crimes Against Person Detectives and Crime Scene Investigation Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.

The victim will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner. PPD says this is the city’s 15th homicide of the year.
