The Sacramento Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting that killed one and injured another. SPD reports that its officers responded to the area of 20th Street and O Street for reports of a shooting around 1:15 a.m. on July 20, 2024.

Responding officers found one adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. SPD says a second victim self-transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to assume control of the investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made. The victim will be identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
