The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 50-year-old Claudio Aguirre-Vazquez. ACSO reports that it received a report of an assault in a field near West Highway 26 and South Booker Road.

ACSO says the victim and multiple witnesses claimed an argument occurred between multiple subjects before it turned into a physical altercation. The male suspect allegedly pulled a knife and attempted to stab the victim.

Then, the suspect is accused of hitting the victim with a garden hoe multiple times. The suspect in the case has been identified as 50-year-old Claudio Aguirre-Vazquez, according to authorities.

ACSO says deputies carried out a search warrant in the 500 block of South 6th Avenue in Othello to recover related evidence. Aguirre-Vazquez was booked on suspicion of assault in the first degree.
