A man is dead following a shooting in Fremont on Saturday. The Fremont Police Department said in a social media post that it received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the area of Blaisdell Way and Nichols Avenue around 1:25 p.m. on July 20, 2024.

At the scene, officers found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving efforts were made, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

FPD confirms there is no threat to the community. FPD’s Crimes Against Persons Unit responded to assume control of the investigation. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact FPD’s Investigations Unit at 510-790-6900.
