The Anchorage Police Department is searching for a man following an axe attack. APD reports that its officers responded to Davis Park at 5081 Mountain View Drive regarding an assault around 6:16 p.m. on July 19, 2024.

Officers located an adult male victim in the woods. The victim had been assaulted with an axe and suffered injuries to the upper and lower body. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

APD believes that the injuries were inflicted by 27-year-old Miracle E. Sala. At this time, it is not known what led up to the assault. Detectives have obtained a felony warrant for Sala for Assault in the First Degree.

Sala remains at large. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact dispatch at 907-786-8900.
