A 29-year-old Unadilla man has been arrested for alleged sexual abuse. His mother was also arrested for allegedly allowing the abuse to happen. Otsego County Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. reports that 29-year-old Eugene T. Buzie and 50-year-old Mandie M. Brown were arrested.

The arrests follow an investigation into reported sexual abuse in the Town of Otego. The investigation allegedly indicated that Buzie had subjected children under the age of 13 to various forms of sexual abuse for several years.

Buzie’s mother, Mandie Brown, was allegedly aware of the abuse and did not intervene. On July 19, 2024, both suspects were located at their residences and taken into custody. They are booked into the Otsego County Correctional Facility.

• 2x Predatory Sexual Assault
• 2x Predatory Sexual Assault with a Child
• 2x Incest in the First Degree
• 2x Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree
• Course of Sexual Conduct in the First Degree
• Rape in the First Degree
• 2x Criminal Sexual Abuse in the First Degree
• 2x Forcible touching
• 2x Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Mandie Brown is charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
