The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has announced the identification of the alleged suspect in a recent robbery and shooting. RCSO reports that 35-year-old James “Boo Boo” Earl Chavis Jr. is wanted for Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, First Degree Kidnapping, Second Degree Kidnapping, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

On July 2, 2024, RCSO deputies responded to a residence on Lewis Farm Road in Shannon for a report of an individual shot. Before deputies arrived, the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim has since been released.
