The Roswell Police Department has announced the arrest of 48-year-old Albert Mondragon following a vehicle and foot pursuit on July 17, 2024. RPD reports that the pursuit occurred a short time after RPD obtained a warrant charging Mondragon with multiple sex crimes involving two juvenile girls.
RPD says Albert Mondragon is charged with three counts of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor, seven counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration, one count of Attempted Criminal Sexual Penetration, and two counts of Kidnapping.
RPD’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating in April when one of the victims reported alleged crimes to a school counselor. The crimes had allegedly been ongoing since May 2023.
Mondragon was located late Wednesday afternoon leaving a residence near Roswell Air Center. Mondragon allegedly fled in a vehicle. The vehicle pursuit ended when Mondragon crashed into a metal gate near the intersection of US 285 and Rocking Chair Road.
Following a foot pursuit, Mondragon was taken into custody and booked into the Chaves County Detention Center. He is also charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting, Evading, or Obstructing an Officer.
