Albany Police arrest suspect in forcible robbery on North Lake Avenue

The Albany Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a forcible robbery on North Lake Avenue. APD reports that a 43-year-old man was arrested after allegedly pushing and striking a man during a robbery.

Around 11:55 a.m., officers responded to the area of Clinton Avenue and North Lake Avenue for reports of a robbery. At the scene, the victim informed officers that they were walking in the area of North Lake Avenue and Elk Street when they were approached by an individual who forcibly stole their property.

The victim was pushed to the ground and struck causing him to suffer injuries to his hands and knees. The suspect fled the scene with the stolen property before police arrived. The victim received treatment at the scene.

Officers located a suspect matching the suspect’s description a short time later. Niam Cook was taken into custody and charged with one count of Robbery 2nd.
