Update – The Yuma Police Department has provided an update on the case involving Ismael Perez Jr.. YPD reports that it received information about multiple reports of female employees who work at Yuma Regional Medical Center. The women reportedly received unsolicited sexually explicit text messages from multiple unrecognized numbers and social media accounts.

YPD says information was obtained noting the suspect had been harassing one victim since 2021. Authorities claim to have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Ismael Perez Jr. who worked at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

On July 17, 2024, Perez was taken into custody. He was booked on one count of Sexual Extortion and 18 counts of Use of an Electronic Communication to Harass. In an update, YPD confirmed that Perez was released on bond.

Perez has been arrested and booked again on numerous new felony and misdemeanor offenses. Anyone with information is asked to call YPD at 928-373-4700 or 78-Crime at 928-782-7463.

The Yuma Police Department reports that it received information about multiple reports of female employees at the medical center who received unsolicited sexually explicit text messages from various unrecognized phone numbers and social media accounts.

The report was received on April 10, 2024. Since then, YPD has been investigating the case. YPD says it obtained information that the suspect had been harassing a victim since 2021. Detectives identified the suspect as 24-year-old Ismael Perez Jr. who worked at the hospital.

On July 17, 2024, Perez was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with one count of Sexual Extortion and 18 counts of Use of an Electronic Communication to Harass. YPD confirms the investigation is ongoing.
