The Lynchburg Police Department is currently investigating a malicious wounding incident that occurred on Saturday night. LPD reports that its officers responded to the Langview Apartments at 2229 Yorktown Avenue for reports of shots fired just before 7 p.m. on July 13, 2024.

Following the initial call, LPD was informed that an adult male victim had arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. The victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

LPD says three juvenile males were initially detained for questioning. Two remain in custody on unrelated charges. Authorities are searching for an additional juvenile male believed to be involved in the incident.
