Local transient arrested after robbing elderly man in Riverside

A local transient has been arrested by the Riverside Police Department after allegedly robbing an elderly man on July 2. The Riverside Police Department reports that an elderly male victim was leaving White Park after meeting friends around 3 p.m. on July 2.

The victim was approached by a local transient who robbed him. The suspect forced the victim to walk to a nearby bank to get more money from the victim’s account. The suspect is accused of pointing a simulated weapon at the victim all the while.

The suspect waited outside while the victim went into the bank and asked for help. Before police reached the scene, the suspect fled on foot. Robbery – Homicide Unit detectives followed up on the kidnapping robbery. On July 11, a Park and Neighborhood Specialist spotted the suspect and informed detectives.

33-year-old Tyreez Daishon Marzette was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for Kidnapping to Commit Robbery, Burglary, and Elder Abuse charges. At this time, Marzette is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
