The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the death of an Athens man in Nicholson, Georgia. GBI assumed control of the investigation after a request from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

29-year-old Shalmar Lay was found near the intersection of Antioch Church Road and Gus Barnett Road in Nicholson. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact GBI at 706-552-2309.
