A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a child sexual assault case. The Berkeley Police Department believes the suspect may have assaulted a number of young victims and there could be additional victims.
BPD reports that Youth Services Detectives have been investigating a case involving children. Last week, several parents brought forward concerns about their children’s interactions with the suspect.
BPD detectives initiated an investigation that ultimately led to the arrest of 25-year-old Tyler Livingston. On July 11, 2024, detectives carried out a search warrant and arrest warrant at an address associated with Livingston.
BPD took Livingston into custody in Emeryville without incident. BPD says Livingston worked as a swim instructor in the Bay Area over the past few years and may have spent time as a substitute teacher.
Detectives believe there could be more victims out there. Anyone with information is asked to contact BPD’s Youth Services Unit at 510-981-5715.
