The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in solving a recent homicide. BCSO reports that it is searching for information about a disturbance that led to a fatal shooting on July 4, 2024.

The shooting claimed the life of one person. Just after 9:30 p.m. on July 4, BCSO deputies responded to 1148 in the St. Stephen area for a report of an altercation with shots fired. The caller informed dispatch that a victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

At the scene, deputies found the victim deceased. The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to contact BCSO directly.
