The Boston Police Department confirms that an arson suspect has been taken into custody. BPD reports that District A-15 officers and Fire Investigation Unit members arrested 34-year-old Katherine Cox around 3:14 p.m. on July 3, 2024.

Officers responded to the area of 4 Meade Street for a report of a fire. Officers blocked off various streets as the Boston Fire Department worked to extinguish the active fire. BPD alleged that Cox intentionally set the fire.

Cox has been charged with Arson of a Dwelling and Burning Personal Property. She will be arraigned in Charlestown District Court.
