The Asheville Police Department is searching for a person of interest in an assault that injured three people. APD says the incident happened during an ACAB seminar on Saturday afternoon at the West Asheville Library.
Officers responded to reports of a fight in progress just before 3 p.m. on June 29. Between 80 and 100 people were attending an ACAB seminar called, “Strategic Lessons from the Palestinian Resistance”.
Officers saw the crowd dispersing. APD officers identified three victims who reported an altercation followed by an assault that ensued during a live-streaming of the event on social media.
The victims informed officers that one of the attendees forcefully took their cell phones. Then, a large crowd allegedly attacked and assaulted them. The victims suffered minor injuries.
Taylor Danielle Zarkin was charged with two counts of Resisting, Delay, and Obstruct. In an update, APD said it is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest. APD has released images of the person of interest.
