Tulsa Police identify victim of homicide following arrest of 17-year-old

The Tulsa Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a weekend shooting. TPD officers responded to a report of shots fired at the Eagle Suites near 47th and South Yale Avenue around 10 p.m. on June 29, 2024.

At the scene, officers found 56-year-old Bradley Willingford deceased from a gunshot wound inside one of the motel rooms. Detectives say they identified the suspect as a 17-year-old male.

A search warrant was carried out at a residence near 46th and Yale earlier today. The suspect was promptly taken into custody. Detectives say they obtained a video of the shooter. The suspect allegedly had a loaded pistol at the time of his arrest.

TPD says the serial number was ground off. The gun will be checked to see if it is the same one used to shoot Willingford. TPD reports that the 17-year-old a tribal member and will fall under the McGirt ruling.
