The Delaware State Police is currently investigating an armed carjacking at a gas station in New Castle. DSP reports that its troopers responded to a carjacking at the Sunoco at 285 Christiana Road in New Castle around 10:07 p.m. on June 28, 2024.
Troopers learned that the 24-year-old victim was in a Chevrolet Malibu at the gas pumps when he was approached by a masked, black male suspect with a firearm. The suspect allegedly made unknown demands and threatened the victim.
DSP says the victim complied allowing the suspect to steal his cell phone and car keys. Following the incident, the suspect fled north on Airport Road in the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not injured during the incident.
Surveillance video is not available at this time. The suspect is only described as a masked, black male.
