Former Natchitoches Parish teacher arrested for indecent behavior with a student

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a former Natchitoches Parish School Teacher in connection to an indecent behavior with a student investigation. The ongoing investigation is being carried out by the Criminal Investigations Bureau and High-Tech Crime Unit.

The investigation started on June 15, 2024 when deputies responded to a complaint of allegations of a school teacher sending a woman’s child inappropriate messages by phone and social media platforms.

Deputies collected evidence for an offense reports which was handed over to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau. Detectives say they spoke with the Superintendent of the Natchitoches Parish School Board. When the allegations were disclosed, the teacher was immediately terminated.

Detectives say they obtained sufficient evidence and probable cause to secure a criminal arrest warrant for 32-year-old Marques D. Washington. On June 25, 2024, Washington reported to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau for an investigation.

He was ultimately arrested and booked on one count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. No further details are available at this time.
